Lincolnshire is a great agricultural county and food is never far from our minds! No doubt that sea air creates an appetite so we thought some picnic friendly recipes using local produce from chef Rachel Green will add to your day on the beach.
Pumpkin Tagine
By using a wide necked flask this delicious tagine can be easily transported to the beach for a really warming dish after a bracing walk.
Orange Cheesecake in a Jar
This pudding looks impressive, but is simplicity itself to make. Use chocolate biscuits to make the base if you need to keep your chocolate levels up!

Natural Coast's Local Produce
It may be a cliché but sea air really does give you an appetite and fish and chips goes with a day at the seaside like nothing else. Visit a local farm shop to discover some great local produce. Lincolnshire is one of the most important food producing counties in the UK and we’re noted for our vegetables and sausages. Look out for pick your own fruit, local honey, eggs, pork and lamb and not forgetting beef from the coastal grazing marshes. But you’re on holiday, so indulge – local cafes and pubs will provide!

Offering coffee and cake all day and hot food served in the evenings, this restaurant is a lovely stop off for some point in your day. Dog friendly, delicious food and friendly service local to Sutton-on-Sea.
North Sea Observatory
Why not visit the observatory at the beginning or end (or both) of a bracing walk along the beach. The café is open every day and is noted for its early morning and evening events.
